Quality Safety Solutions Limited is operated personally by Colin Edwards so you can be assured that your fire risk assessment will be done by a highly qualified and experienced individual.

Colin was employed by Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service for 25 years, and was a specialist fire safety officer for 15 years. He has a great deal of experience in the field of technical fire safety, having worked on a large variety of premises including schools, residential care establishments, houses in multiple occupation, offices, shops, factories and licensed premises. He is fully aware of the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 having been part of the training team who taught the new legislation to Fire Safety officers throughout the north-west.

We take pride in being able to understand the problems which face particular businesses and Colin haspersonal experiences of working in the following fields:

• Schools - He was a school governor at a variety of schools for over 10 years and is also a fully qualified teacher for post 16 year olds, having gained a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of Huddersfield in 2002.
• Playgroups and day-nurseries - Colin's wife runs a playgroup and whilst he doesn't get actively involved in the day to day work, he does carry out a lot of the administrative tasks.
• Licensed premises - A particular references in the fire service was licensed premises and houses in multiple occupation and prior to joining the fire service Colin worked as a barman and a door supervisor.

Due to Colin's involvement with the playgroup he has undergone the CRB enhanced disclosure procedure.

Colin is a longstanding member of the Institution of Fire Engineers.
